The Sanborn PTA does so much for our students and families and school each year!

Please read on to learn more about all the fun activities and events the PTA not only plans, but financially supports. That’s one of the reasons why joining PTA is so important (the cost is $10 per parent for the entire year) – so we can continue to provide these opportunities for you and your child/children. Please join the PTA and get more involved in our Sanborn community!

Our yearly events include:

• Kindergarten Round-Up: the Sanborn PTA President and Sanborn Principal provide an overview of incoming parents of kindergartners.
• Kindy Play Date: Our youngest students have the chance to practice boarding a school bus and meeting one another before school starts.
• Family Movie Night: The entire student body and families are invited to enjoy a family night out with dinner and a movie.
• Room Parents: Parents can help out at the Halloween and Valentine’s Day parties – just two parties during the year!
• Dance-a-Thon: All students participate during school in early fall and get family/friends to sponsor them – this is Sanborn’s only yearly fundraiser.
• Holiday Breakfast/Secret Shop: In early December, the gym is filled with nominally priced gifts students can shop – to buy presents for family and friends.
  We provide gift wrapping too! A breakfast is also provided during this event for everyone to enjoy.
• Book Fairs: Students LOVE to shop for books during our book fairs, which occur in the fall and spring.
• Ice Cream Social: What else can we say – there’s ice cream for everyone!
• Bingo: What else can we say, it’s BINGO!
• Bike to School Day: Co-sponsored with the Bike Palatine Club, we invite all kids to bike to school and enter raffles to win prizes near the end of the school year!  For those who don’t live in the downtown, families in the area will provide meetups so all can participate!

Consider volunteering for PTA – even if it’s just an hour of your time!! You can meet other parents - make new friends and learn more about what’s happening at Sanborn at our monthly meetings (first Tuesday at 6:30 pm in the library). Join us and help to create lasting memories for our kids and families.

Box Tops is going digital, so download the app today to scan your receipts and identify your students name and teacher's name for credit.

We are launching a Facebook page! Stay connected to see special offers, updates on our Goal or to contact if you have any questions. Find and Like us at facebook.com/SanbornPTABoxTops. 

Check your Clipping dates! Please send these to school by the expiration date as it will be the last chance to get these clippings in for submission before they expire.

Other ways to help the PTA:

1. Join the PTA, or make a tax-deductible donation. The cost for membership is $10 per family for the entire year - which helps us to fund the many events and initiatives we manage throughout the year to make the school year a memorable one for all of our families!

2. Shop some more and GiveBacks automatically donates to the PTA!
3. Keep an eye on the meeting minutes for other fun, family-oriented events coming up!
4. Volunteer/Chair committees and events!  Check out the current opportunities here and/or email Katie Hill, ptasanborn@gmail.com, any ideas/events you would like to help with!

 

It's easy to become a member of the Sanborn PTA! Membership is $10 per family and covers the entire year of events/activities the PTA manages and funds for our children and families!

You can become a member of the PTA is any of the following ways:

• Payments can be made online at GMS PTA Memberhub. No need to fill out the membership form for this option! Just click the button, fill out the required fields, and enter your payment information. It's that easy!

• Print the membership form that is listed below, fill it out and mail it to Sanborn or drop it at Sanborn in an envelope that is addressed to the Sanborn PTA (along with your payment in cash or a check made payable to Sanborn PTA).

• Volunteer/Chair committees and events!  Check out the current opportunities HERE and/or email Katie Hill, ptasanborn@gmail.com, any ideas/events you would like to help with!
